On Tuesday, February 21st, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets played the Georgia Southern Eagles in Statesboro. Two former Bucks were on the field. Listen to Danny Reed, Georgia Southern radio broadcaster, mention Trevor Craport (2015 Bucks) and Tyler Martin (2014 and 2016 Bucks).
“0-1. Fastball sinks, but too much. 1-1 count to Trevor Craport, former standout in the Sunbelt Summer League with the Brookhaven Bucks. His head coach, former Major League outfielder Corey Patterson, he was an all-star. One of the better two way guys during the early 2000s. He was a Cub, he was an Oriole. Swing and a miss. Good looking hook, now 1-2 to Craport. Georgia Southern’s right fielder, Tyler Martin, a Sunbelt Summer League alum. And as coincidence would have it he is also a former Brookhaven Buck. They’re everywhere. #AntlersUp. Let’s make that a thing. Two outs, man at third. 1-2, up high with that breaking ball.”
Georgia Tech beat Georgia Southern 10-3. Craport went 1-4 with a walk, run scored and stolen base. Martin went 1-3 with a double and two walks. Additionally, Coleman Poje (2016 Bucks) played in the game as a late defensive replacement in right field for the Yellow Jackets.
